It is the last resort for the engine if, for example, the wrong fuel with too low an octane rating has been refuelled, the boost pressure is too high or the mixture is too lean. It is therefore essential to check the cables and also observe the tightening torque of 20 Nm, otherwise a perfect signal cannot be guaranteed! The knock sensor is an important component that recognises engine knocking and forwards it to the control unit. If this sensor is defective and the engine knocks, this can lead to serious piston damage.
