What does the vacuum pump do? All modern brake systems require vacuum for the brake booster in order to achieve braking power. As a rule, this vacuum is channelled from the intake manifold to the brake booster. However, the 2.5L EA855 and EA855 EVO engines are equipped with a vacuum pump that supplies the brake booster with vacuum instead. These pumps are prone to failure, leak oil, are expensive to replace, consume engine power and are usually not needed when replacing the engine. Simple solution for removing the vacuum pump! The Vacuum Pump Delete Plate is used to remove the factory vacuum pump from 2.5L engines. Our plate, sealed with a high temperature O-ring, fits perfectly into the vacuum pump location, sealing the oil passages for the stock pump and eliminating oil pressure issues. Removing the pump is desirable when installing an engine in vehicles that already have a standard brake booster system. Important note: Removing the vacuum pump also means that the brake booster will no longer function without additional adjustments. For safe operation, we recommend connecting the brake booster to the intake manifold after removing the pump. Driving without a functioning brake booster is dangerous and should only be carried out with appropriate retrofitting. Features: Quick and uncomplicated installation without complicated tools.
