The already efficient twin intercooler system, which was developed for the biturbo V8, has now been further optimised by do88.The kit was designed as a direct OE replacement and contains high-quality 105 mm meshes from Garrett Motorsport. This achieves a significant increase in power and torque - thanks to a design that maximises airflow and significantly reduces temperatures. Perfect for high performance and track vehicles. The biggest challenge in developing a performance intercooler for the RS6 / RS7 is the limited space behind the front bumper and wheel arches. This limits the size of the intercooler mesh, the tanks and the air ducting. Do88 has ensured that every available millimetre is used optimally. The intercooler nets, manufactured by Garrett, use advanced aerospace technology. The nets consist of densely packed, thin cooling fins that enable very efficient heat transfer, ensuring optimum performance. The uniquely designed, free-moulded cast end tanks distribute the airflow evenly across the entire mesh. Extensive CFD analysis, 3D printed prototypes and flow bench testing have enabled a design that optimises airflow to the maximum. The hose connections have a diameter of 70 mm, which corresponds to a significant increase of 37 % compared to the OE connections with 60 mm. This increase in size eliminates critical bottlenecks in the airflow - crucial for better turbocharger efficiency and higher performance values. To achieve the optimum airflow, two high-quality air guides made of prepreg carbon are supplied. These guides are securely attached to the intercoolers with four screws, ensuring a constant supply of fresh cooling air to the 29% larger mesh surface.
