External thermostat Dash 8 BAR-TEK® Our external thermostat clearly sets itself apart from the usual thermostats on the market. Some sources of error have been eliminated with our thermostat, for example the tilting of the slider in the cylinder housing. In addition, our thermostat is equipped with Dash connections and can be quickly integrated into any system. Ideal as a supplement for our TDI and TSI oil cooler kits, especially for the cold season or for short-distance operation. Function: A certain amount of oil always flows through the thermostat so that the system is vented to oil cooler. Only from a temperature of approx. 90°C does the thermostat open completely and all the oil flows to oil cooler. Connection: As printed on the housing, the lines from the engine come from one side and the oil continues to flow to the radiator on the other side. It does not matter which connection is the supply or return.
